Here is why:

We presented 34 candidates for buying positions starting 3/14/2022

This retailer is extraordinary - and will only hire that candidate who is a " hand and glove fit "
They are based in Chicago and are very high fashion..so a relocation is a must !

We need "Unicorns" that have a contemporary taste level, know how to develop product ( no product development team) Drive an Open to Buy, and are an Omni Channel merchant!

Then , one day - I found her . On 7/16/25. She had just been through a RIF. However, she was buying Footwear. The same client needed a footwear buyer -so, of course we presented her. But. , she did not have quite enough experience in footwear product development .

So, with great determination , we presented the candidate to the Apparel leadership of the business - and it was LOVE.

Candidate virtually interviewed -7/31
Visit to Chicago - 8/ 25
Offer extended - 8/27
Start Date - 9/15

We went from a RIF to a new chapter in life in 2 months. And, this candidate will always have a " mentor" in me. She was the perfect candidate and will do an amazing job helping to scale business.
